Meet Morgan Sawyer

What's your background?

I’m originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, but my parents were military, so I call Richmond, Virginia, home. I got into art because it was fun and I enjoyed learning how to draw by watching my dad sketch the things I asked him to, and then I would try to draw it the same way.

What's your medium of choice when you're creating art?

I like working with brush and fw ink.

How did you build your creative habit?

I try to keep myself on a schedule so I have a healthy amount of rest and fun outside of drawing.

When you find yourself in a creative rut, how do you get out of it?

I take a break and look at other people’s art, read books and write.

Which of your recent Sktchy artworks most expresses who you are now as an artist?

The one shows how I mostly work stylistically.
